Academic CentreThe Chamber Choir "DeCoro" of the University of Latvia was founded in 2007 by conductor Ainars Rubikis. Its members, aged between 18 and 40, are students and graduates of the University of Latvia and other universities. Currently the choir is led by conductors Peteris and Kristiana Vaickovski, with Janis Kursevs as choirmaster.
The Chamber Choir "DeCoro" is dedicated not only to maintain the tradition of participating in the Nationwide Latvian Song and Dance Festival, and Baltic students' Song and Dance festival, but also to create original concert programs in collaboration with other professional artists. They have collaborated with Ugis Praulins, Jekabs Nimanis, and Matiss Cudars, Varis Pinkis, Ilze and Ieva Dzerve, Ugis Krisjanis, Atis Andersons and others.
The choir has successfully participated in various international competitions in Poland, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, and beyond, impressing audiences with unique solo concert programs and internationally acclaimed choral masterpieces.
